Christmas Snickerdoodle Cookies

Soft and chewy classic snickerdoodle cookies with a fun Christmas themed twist to them. They have all of the classic cinnamon flavors of a traditional snickerdoodle cookie, but with Christmas themed sprinkles mixed into the cookie dough. The cookie dough is rolled in a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon and baked like classic snickerdoodle cookies. Everyone will love these fun and festive snickerdoodle cookies.

The cookie dough is made like a classic snickerdoodle cookie, with the addition of Christmas themed sprinkles mixed into the cookie dough. Roll the cookie dough into balls, then roll each one into a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet and bake until they are fully cooked through. Let the cookies cool completely on a cooling rack before serving.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Christmas sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking soda, and cream of tartar. In a large bowl, combine butter with sugar until fluffy.
  • Add in egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth. Add in the flour mixture, and mix until it is fully combined. Fold in sprinkles. In a shallow dish, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  • Roll the cookie dough into balls and roll them into the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
