Soft and chewy cookie bars filled with red and green Christmas themed M&Ms. Everyone will love these easy chewy cookie bars with a delicious chocolate M&M flavor. They make the perfect easy treat to bake this holiday season.

The cookie dough is made like a classic sugar cookie dough, except for the addition of Christmas themed M&Ms folded into the cookie dough. Evenly press the cookie dough into a greased square baking dish and bake until the center comes out clean with a toothpick. Let cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.

• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 cup butter, softened
• 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 1 large egg
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 cup Christmas M&Ms

Method

 

1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, mix together butter and both sugars until fluffy. Add in egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
2. Add in the flour mixture and mix until it is fully combined. Fold in the M&Ms. Evenly spread the cookie dough into a greased 8-inch square baking dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
