Chocolate Chip Snickerdoodle Cookies

Soft and chewy chocolate chip cookie combined with a classic cinnamon snickerdoodle cookie. This chocolate chip snickerdoodle cookie is the perfect mix of both cookies. They are filled with chocolate chips, and covered in a sweet cinnamon and sugar coating. These cookies are great to bake anytime of the year, or as a great holiday cookie that the whole family will love.

The dough for these cookies is started with a classic chocolate chip cookie dough, except with the addition of cream of tartar added t o the dough, giving them the traditional snickerdoodle flavor. Cinnamon and sugar are mixed together in a shallow dish. Roll the cookie dough into balls, and then roll each ball into the cinnamon sugar mixture, place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until they are completely done in the center. Let cool on wire racks before serving.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking soda, and cream of tartar. In a large bowl, combine butter with both sugars until fluffy.
  • Add in egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth. Add in the flour mixture, mix until it is completely combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips. In a shallow dish, combine sugar and cinnamon. Roll the cookie dough into balls, and roll each ball into the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Place onto a large ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
