Chocolate Chip Heart Blossom Cookies

Soft and chewy chocolate chip cookies, topped with a heart shaped chocolate. These easy blossom cookies make the perfect treat to make this Valentine’s day. They turn a classic chocolate chip cookie into a fun Valentine’s day treat that the whole family will love.

For the cookie dough, it is made just like a classic chocolate chip cookie dough, they are rolled into balls, and baked on a large baking sheet until they are cooked through. Once they come out of the oven, place one heart shaped chocolate on each cookie. Let the cool completely on a cooling rack before serving.

Chocolate Chip Heart Blossom Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • heart shaped chocolates

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with both sugars until fluffy. Add in egg and vanilla extract, and mix until it is smooth.
  2. Add in the flour mixture, and mix until it is fully combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. Roll the cookie dough into balls, and place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  3. Remove from the oven, and place one heart chocolate on each cookie.
