I love chili cheese dogs with fries. So making a casserole with hot dogs, chili, cheese all topped off from crispy tater tots is the perfect winter casserole meal. It is the perfect way to combine classic chili cheese dogs with crispy cheesy tater tots. The whole casserole uses only 4 ingredients and takes 10 minutes to put together. This cheesy casserole makes a great weekday meal that the whole family will enjoy.
The only ingredients that you need to make this cheesy casserole, are sliced hot dogs, 2 cans of chili or you can also substitute canned chili for homemade. I also choose to use no beans chili, because that is what is usually used for chili cheese dogs, but chili with beans work also. You will also need frozen tater tots and shredded cheddar cheese for this casserole. Mix the sliced hot dogs with the chili in a large greased baking dish. Top the casserole with frozen tater tots in one single layer. Sprinkle the tater tots with shredded cheddar cheese. Bake until the tater tots are golden and crispy and the cheese has melted.
Chili Dog Tater Tot Casserole
Ingredients
- 10 hot dogs, sliced
- 2 ( 14 oz.) cans chili
- 1 ( 32 oz.) bag frozen tater tots
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F. Place sliced hot dogs into a greased baking dish. Mix canned chili with the sliced hot dogs.
- Place the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the hot dogs. Sprinkle the tater tots with shredded cheddar cheese. Bake for 40-45 minutes.
