Cheesy chili dogs baked right inside of the buns all covered with cheese. This easy chili cheese dog bake is the perfect quick and easy family friendly meal. Hot dogs are baked along with the hot dog buns and covered with chili, cheddar cheese and onions. There is very little prep work involved in making these delicious hot dogs. Serve with your favorite type of chips for a quick and easy meal that the whole family will love.
The hot dog buns are covered with an easy spread made with mayonnaise and mustard. Place the hot dog buns in a baking dish and place a hot dog into each bun. For the chili, I used canned but this would be perfect with leftover chili instead. Cover the hot dogs with chili and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and diced onion. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake until the hot dogs are fully cooked through and the cheese has melted.
Chili Cheese Dog Bake
Ingredients
- 8 hot dogs
- 8 hot dog buns
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons mustard
- 1 ( 14 oz.) can chili
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 large onion, diced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise and mustard. Evenly spread inside hot dog buns. Place hot dog buns in a large baking dish.
- Place one hot dog into each hot dog bun. Pour chili evenly over hot dogs. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and diced onions. Cover with foil and bake for 35-40 minutes.
