The cookie dough is started like a classic shortbread cookie dough, then dried cherries and cherry juice are added into the cookie dough. Roll the dough into balls, and flatten each slightly. Place onto a large ungreased baking sheet. Bake until the bottoms of the cookies are lightly browned.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons cherry juice
- 1/2 cup dried cherries
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, combine butter with powdered sugar until fluffy. Add in vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
- Add in the flour and mix until it is fully combined. Add in the cherry juice and dried cherries. Roll the cookie dough into balls, and flatten slightly. Place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
