Cake Mix Red, White and Blue Oatmeal Cookies

Soft and chewy homemade oatmeal cookies made with a box of cake mix and made red, white and blue for the Fourth of July. Everyone will love the soft and fluffy texture of the cookies, and the fun Fourth of July themed colors. They make the perfect easy treat to bake this summer.

The cookie dough is made by mixing a box of white cake mix with oats, eggs, and vegetable oil until smooth. Divide the dough between three bowls, and mix one with blue food coloring and one with red food coloring. Take a small amount of cookie dough from each dough, and roll together into balls. Place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through.

  • 1 ( 15 oz.) box white cake mix
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • red and blue food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, mix cake mix with oats, eggs, and vegetable oil until smooth. Divide dough between three bowls. Mix one with red food coloring and one with blue.
  • Take a small amount of each cookie dough and roll together into balls. Place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
