The cookie dough is made by mixing a box of cake mix with peanut butter, eggs and vegetable oil until smooth. Roll each cookie dough into balls and roll into a dish of either red, white or blue sanding sugar. Place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet and bake until the cookies are fully cooked through.

- Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, mix cake mix with peanut butter, eggs, and vegetable oil until smooth. Place each sanding sugar in a shallow dish.
- Roll the cookie dough into balls and roll each one into one of the sugars. Place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
