Smoked sausage and potatoes is a simple quick and easy meal that is ready in less than 30 minutes. It is so quick and simple to make with no baking required, just a skillet is needed. It is made spicy using Cajun seasoning, but you can choose to use any other seasoning that you would like. There are many ways that you can serve this meal, you can eat it by itself. Or you can also wrap the sausage and potato mixture into a flour tortilla and serve it like a taco. Any way that you serve it, this makes a great quick budget friendly weeknight meal.
The only ingredients that you need to make this delicious meal is russet potatoes, smoked sausage, olive oil and Cajun seasoning. The potatoes do not need to be peeled before you cook them, they just need to be diced. Because the potatoes take longer to cook, the potatoes will first need to be cooked in some olive oil until they are tender. Then you can add in the smoked sausage that has been sliced into small round slices. Season with Cajun seasoning, and continue to cook until the sausage is cooked through.
Cajun Sausage and Potato Skillet
Ingredients
- 4 medium potatoes, cubed into 1-inch pieces
- 1 (10 oz.) package smoked sausage
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
Instructions
- Dice potatoes into 1-inch cubes. Slice sausage link into round slices.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add potatoes and cook for 10-15 minutes, until the are softened and tender.
- Add in the sliced sausage links and Cajun seasoning to the potatoes. Cook for another 10-15 minutes, until the sausage is cooked through and the potatoes are crispy.
