Blackberries are one of my favorite summer fruits. Blackberries are in season during the summer, so if you grow blackberries are go picking fresh berries, you will have tons of berries needing to use up. Fruit cobblers are the perfect summer dessert that work with any type of fruit. But blackberry cobbler is one of my favorite types of cobblers. Blackberries have a sweet slightly tart flavor that works great with this sweet buttery cobbler crust. Serve topped with ice cream or whipped cream for an easy and delicious summer dessert.
I used fresh blackberries, although if blackberries are not in season or if you can’t find any you can use frozen blackberries. To make the sweet buttery cobbler crust, flour, sugar, melted butter and milk are whisked together. Pour the cobbler mixture over the blackberries and bake until the crust is nice and golden. Let cool and either serve warm or cold. Keep leftovers refrigerated for up to one week.
