Ribs are a classic summer barbecue meal. Ribs are usually grilled, but instead of using the grill these ribs are baked until tender. Because these ribs are baked, you can make them any time of the year or even when its raining. They have a delicious spicy dry rub and covered in barbecue sauce. The ribs are slow-roasted in the oven until they are fall off of the bone tender. Serve with all of your favorite summer barbecue side dishes like corn on the cob and classic potato salad.
You can use any size ribs for this, I chose a 3 pound rack of ribs. If you use a different size of ribs you may need to adjust the cooking time. The dry rub is made with a spice mixture of brown sugar, salt, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, onion powder and onion powder. It creates a spicy barbecue dry rub. It is rubbed onto the ribs and and covered with foil. Slow roast the ribs in the oven until tender and fall off of the bone. Uncover and evenly spread the barbecue sauce over the ribs. Bake for another 30 minutes, uncovered until the barbecue sauce is caramelized.
