St. Patrick’s Day Snowball Cookies

Easy buttery classic snowball cookies made with green food coloring for St. Patrick’s day. And rolled in powdered sugar, giving them a classic snowball look. Everyone will love these easy and delicious snowball cookies with a fun St. Patrick’s day themed treat.

The cookie dough is made like a classic shortbread cookie dough, except for the addition of green food coloring. Roll the cookie dough into balls and place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until the bottoms are lightly browned. Roll each one in powdered sugar.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • green food coloring
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, mix together butter and powdered sugar until fluffy. Add in vanilla extract and mix until smooth. Add in the flour mixture and mix until a thick dough forms. Add in the green food coloring.
  • Roll the cookie dough into balls and place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Place powdered sugar into a shallow dish, and roll each one in the sugar.
