Soft and chewy cookies with a chocolate kiss baked inside of the cookie dough. The cookies are dusted with powdered sugar after baking for a mix of a classic snowball cookie and a warm chocolate cookie. The cookie dough is prepared similar to a shortbread cookie dough, so the dough is more crumbly. No egg is used in baking these cookies, resulting in the cookies being more a snowball shape instead of spreading out. They make the perfect holiday cookie for baking season this year.
The cookie dough is started by creaming softened butter and granulated sugar together with a mixer. Vanilla extract, flour and milk are added and mixed until all of the ingredients are combined. Refrigerate the cookie dough for at least one hour. Refrigerating the dough before baking will help keep the cookies from spreading out too much in the oven. Place one chocolate kiss on some of the cookie dough and roll the cookie dough into balls and place onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes, while warm roll cookies in powdered sugar. Let cool completely.
