Soft and chewy sugar cookies made with peppermint extract, and made with red food coloring. Everyone will love the soft and chewy texture of the cookies and the delicious peppermint flavors all throughout the cookies. They make the perfect easy treat to bake this Christmas season.
The cookie dough is made like a classic sugar cookie dough, except instead of vanilla extract, peppermint extract is used instead. The cookie dough is divided into two bowls, and one is mixed with red food coloring. Take a small amount of each cookie dough and roll together into balls. Place cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through.
