Grinch Chocolate Chip Snickerdoodle Cookies

Soft and chewy chocolate chip snickerdoodle cookies for Christmas. The cookie dough is made green for the Grinch and topped with a mini heart shaped sprinkle. Everyone will love these easy soft and chewy cookies for a fun Christmas themed dessert.

The cookie dough is made similar to a classic chocolate chip cookie dough, except for the addition of green food coloring. Roll the cookie dough into balls and roll each one into a dish of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through. Remove from the oven and top each one with a heart sprinkle.

Grinch Chocolate Chip Snickerdoodle Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • green food coloring
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • heart sprinkles

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with both sugars until fluffy. Add in egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth. Add in the flour mixture and mix until it is fully combined.
  • Add in the green food coloring. Fold in the chocolate chips. In a shallow dish, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Roll the cookie dough into balls and roll into the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from the oven and top with sprinkles.
