Soft and chewy classic sugar cookies made with a box of vanilla pudding mix, and made red and green for Christmas. Everyone will love the soft and chewy texture that the pudding mix adds to the cookies, and the Christmas colors in the cookies.
The cookie dough is made similar to a classic sugar cookie dough, except for the addition of dry vanilla pudding mix whisked into the cookie dough, divide the cookie dough into two bowls. Add green food coloring into one bowl and red in the other. Take a small amount of each cookie dough and roll together into balls. Place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through.
Christmas Pudding Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ( 3 oz.) box vanilla pudding mix
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- red and green food coloring
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, pudding mix, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, mix together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Add in the flour mixture, and mix until it is fully combined. Divide the cookie dough between two bowls, and mix one with green food coloring and one with red.
- Take a small amount of each cookie dough and roll together into balls. Place cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
