Halloween Snickerdoodle Cookies

Soft and chewy snickerdoodle cookies made orange and purple with food coloring for Halloween. Everyone will love the soft and chewy texture of the cookies and the delicious snickerdoodle flavors along with the fun Halloween colors in the cookies. They are perfect to bake this Halloween season.

The cookie dough is made like a classic sugar cookie dough, except it is divided into two bowls, one with mixed with purple food coloring and one with orange food coloring. Take a small amount of each cookie dough and roll together into balls. Roll each one into a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through.

Halloween Snickerdoodle Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • orange and purple food coloring
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, mix together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add in egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  • Add in the flour mixture, and mix until it is fully combined. Divide the cookie dough into two bowls, and mix one with purple food coloring and one with orange. In a shallow dish, whisk sugar and cinnamon together.
  • Take a small amount of each cookie dough and roll into balls. Roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture and place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
