Quick and easy chocolate covered buttercream truffles filled with chocolate M&Ms. The buttercream is like a thick frosting, that is covered in melted chocolate. Everyone will love this easy five ingredient candy for just about any holiday or occasion.
The only five ingredients that you need is butter that is softened, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, M&Ms, and a bag of chocolate chips. Mix the butter with powdered sugar and vanilla until a thick dough forms. Fold in the M&Ms. Roll the mixture into bite-sized balls and set onto a plate. Freeze while you melt the chocolate. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave until it is fully melted and smooth. Fully coat each truffle in the melted chocolate and set onto a plate. Let sit until the chocolate has completely set.
M&M Buttercream Truffles
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3-4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup M&Ms
- 12 oz. chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix butter with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until a thick dough forms. Fold in the M&Ms.
- Roll the mixture into balls and set onto a plate. Freeze for at least 20 minutes. Place the chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl, and heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well until it is fully melted and smooth.
- Fully coat each truffle in the melted chocolate and set onto a plate. Let sit until the chocolate has completely set.
