Classic apple cobbler is the perfect dessert any time of the year and for any occasion. This classic cobbler like an apple pie, but instead of baking the apple mixture in pie crust it is topped with a classic fluffy cobbler crust. The cobbler crust is buttery and fluffy and so easy to make. Served warm with whipped cream or ice cream for a delicious dessert to enjoy any time of the year.

For the apple mixture, sliced apples are combined with granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Pour the apple mixture out into a baking dish. For the cobbler crust, flour, sugar, salt and baking powder are all whisked together. And butter, milk and vanilla are pour into the dry ingredients and whisk until smooth. Pour the cobbler crust over the top of the apples and bake until the apples are tender and the crust is golden browned and comes out clean with a toothpick.

Ingredients
  

  • 6 medium apples
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Slice apples and mix with 1/2 cup granulated sugar and cinnamon in a large bowl. Spread mixture out into a greased baking dish.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. Pour in milk, melted butter and vanilla extract, whisk until smooth. Pour mixture over apples and bake for 50-55 minutes.
