Sweet and tender ham steak with a sweet brown sugar and maple syrup glaze. The steak is tender and there is minimal prep work involved in this dish. The ham steak only needs to cook for about 10 minutes on the stove top. So you can have this meal ready and on the table in less than 20 minutes. It has a sweet brown sugar glaze that goes perfectly with the thick slices of ham. It makes the perfect meal for a quick and easy dinner.
To make the brown sugar glaze, in a small bowl combine the brown sugar, maple syrup, water, salt, pepper and paprika. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, and add in the sliced ham steaks to the hot skillet. Let it cook on one side until it is lightly browned and heated through. Flip and let the other side brown and heat through. Pour the brown sugar glaze over the ham steaks and let it cook for a few more minutes until it has heated through.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ham steak
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, maple syrup, water, salt, pepper and paprika.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook ham steak until lightly browned. Flip and cook the other side until browned. Pour brown sugar glaze over the ham steaks and continue to cook for another 5 minutes, until heated through.
