With the super bowl coming up soon, one of the biggest parts of the day is the food. While most of the super bowl food is savory appetizers, everybody loves dessert. Cheese balls are the perfect party food, sweet or savory. This cheese ball is sweet with cream cheese, peanut butter and powdered sugar. This delicious creamy cheese ball is shaped in the shape of a football and covered in chocolate sprinkles. And topped with a frosting lace to complete the football look. Everyone will love this cheese ball served with vanilla wafers or pretzels.

The cream cheese is creamed with peanut butter until creamy. Then powdered sugar and vanilla extract are added to the mixture, beating until a thick dough forms. Form the peanut butter mixture into a oval football shape and wrap it in plastic wrap. Place the cheese ball into the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. In a shallow dish, place the chocolate sprinkles, or you could also replace the chocolate sprinkles for chocolate chips if you prefer. Roll the cheese ball into the sprinkles or chocolate chips to coat all sides fully. Place the cheese ball onto a serving plate. place canned or homemade frosting into a piping bag. Pipe frosting onto the cheese ball to resemble a football lace. Keep the cheese ball refrigerated until serving.

  • 1 ( 8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate sprinkles
  • Frosting

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl with a hand mixer, beat softened cream cheese with peanut butter until creamy. Add in powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beat until a thick dough forms.
  • Shape the cheese ball into a football shape and wrap it in plastic wrap. Refrigerate it for at least 2 hours. Place the chocolate sprinkles into a shallow dish.
  • Roll the cheese ball into the chocolate sprinkles, coating all sides completely. Place the cheese ball onto a serving plate. Place frosting into a piping bag and pipe frosting onto the cheese ball for the football lace. Refrigerate until serving.
