Double Chocolate Cookie Bars

Soft and chewy chocolate cookie bars filled with chocolate chips. These easy cookie bars have double the chocolate flavor from both the cookie dough and the chocolate chips. These easy bars are perfect to bake for just about any holiday or occasion. Everyone will love the delicious chocolate flavor.

The cookie dough is started out like a classic chocolate sugar cookie dough, then chocolate chips are folded into the cookie dough. Evenly press the cookie dough into a greased square baking dish. Bake until the center comes out clean with a toothpick. Let cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.

Double Chocolate Cookie Bars

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with sugar until fluffy. Add in egg and vanilla extract, mix until it is smooth.
  • Add in the flour mixture, mix until it is fully combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. Evenly press the cookie dough into a greased 8-inch square baking dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
