Chocolate Heart Blossom Cookies

Soft and chewy chocolate cookies filled with chocolate chips, and topped with chocolate hearts. These easy blossom cookies are quick and easy to make. They are perfect for a easy and delicious Valentine’s day treat. Everyone will love the chewy texture of the cookies, and the chocolate flavor.

The cookie dough is made like a classic chocolate sugar cookie, then chocolate chips are folded into the cookie dough. Roll the cookie dough into balls, and place them onto a large ungreased baking sheet. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through. Remove the cookies from the oven, and place one chocolate heart on each cookie. Let cool completely on a cooling rack before serving.

Chocolate Heart Blossom Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • chocolate hearts

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with sugar until fluffy. Add in egg and vanilla extract and mix until it is smooth.
  • Add in the flour mixture, mix until it is fully combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. Roll the cookie dough into balls, and place them onto a large ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, and place one heart chocolate on each cookie.
