Football Chocolate Chip Cookies

Soft and chewy classic chocolate chip cookies shaped and decorated to look like footballs. These easy and tasty cookies make a fun football themed or game day party. Each cookie is decorated with vanilla frosting to make them look like footballs. It is a fun and easy way to make football themed treat that everyone will love.

The cookie dough is made just like a classic chocolate chip cookie dough. Except instead of being rolled into balls, it is formed into oval shapes and placed onto a large baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through. Let the cookies cool completely before decorating with the frosting. Place the frosting into a piping bag, and decorate each cookie to make them look like footballs.

Football Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • vanilla frosting

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with both sugars until fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  • Add in the flour mixture, and mix until it is fully combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. Roll the cookie dough into ovals, and place onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Let cool completely
  • Place the frosting into a piping bag. Pipe frosting onto each cookie in a football pattern.
