Soft and chewy cookies filled with tons of delicious juicy Maraschino cherries, and topped off with a chocolate kiss. The cherry flavor and the flavor of the chocolate kiss go perfectly together in these cookies. Everyone will love these delicious juicy cherry cookies for a fun Valentine’s day themed treat.

The cookie dough is made similar to a classic sugar cookie dough, except that instead of vanilla extract, cherry juicy is used. And chopped Maraschino cherries are added into the cookie dough. Roll the dough into balls, and place them onto a large ungreased baking sheet. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through. Remove them from the oven, and place one chocolate kiss on each cookie, and let cool completely on cooling racks before serving.

Cherry Blossom Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon cherry juice
  • 1/2 cup chopped Maraschino cherries

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with sugar until fluffy. Add in egg and cherry juice, and mix until smooth.
  • Add in the flour mixture, and mix until it is fully combined. Fold in the chopped cherries. Roll the cookie dough into balls and place them onto a large ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from the oven and top each cookie with a chocolate kiss.
