Soft and chewy classic red velvet flavored cookies filled with delicious crushed Oreo cookies. These easy red velvet cookies are perfect to make for Valentine’s day. Everyone will love the delicious classic flavors of red velvet combined with the chocolate Oreo cookies.

The cookie dough is easy to make, it is started like a classic red velvet cookie dough, with cocoa powder, and colored red with red food coloring. Crushed Oreo cookies are folded into the cookie dough, then the dough is placed onto a large ungreased baking sheet using a cookie scoop. Bake until the cookies are fully cooked through. Let them cool completely on a cooling rack before serving.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • red food coloring
  • 1/2 cup crushed Oreo cookies

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda. In a large bowl, combine butter with sugar until fluffy. Add in egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  • Add in the flour mixture, and mix until it is fully combined. Add in the red food coloring and mix until it is fully red. Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies.
  • Use a cookie scoop to place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
