Christmas Snickerdoodle Cookies

Soft and chewy classic snickerdoodle cookies with a fun Christmas themed twist to them. They have all of the classic cinnamon flavors of a traditional snickerdoodle cookie, but with Christmas themed sprinkles mixed into the cookie dough. The cookie dough is rolled in a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon and baked like classic snickerdoodle cookies. Everyone will love these fun and festive snickerdoodle cookies.

The cookie dough is made like a classic snickerdoodle cookie, with the addition of Christmas themed sprinkles mixed into the cookie dough. Roll the cookie dough into balls, then roll each one into a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet and bake until they are fully cooked through. Let the cookies cool completely on a cooling rack before serving.

Christmas Snickerdoodle Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Christmas sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking soda, and cream of tartar. In a large bowl, combine butter with sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add in egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth. Add in the flour mixture, and mix until it is fully combined. Fold in sprinkles. In a shallow dish, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Roll the cookie dough into balls and roll them into the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
