Flour, cocoa powder, and vanilla are mixed into the dough until it is fully combined. Add red food coloring in to make these cookies look like traditional red velvet cookies. Roll the dough into balls, and place them onto a large baking sheet. Bake until the bottoms are lightly browned. Roll the cookies into a shallow dish of powdered sugar, and let cool completely before serving.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- red food coloring

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a large bowl combine butter with powdered sugar until fluffy. Add in flour, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract and mix until combined. Add in the red food coloring and mix until it is fully red.
- Roll the cookie dough into balls, and place them onto a large ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Place powdered sugar into a shallow dish. Roll the cookies into the powdered sugar, and let cool completely.
