Soft and chewy cookies that is a combination of chocolate chip cherry cookies and a classic snickerdoodle cookie. The flavor of the chocolate chips and the flavor of the dried cherries go perfectly together. They are rolled in a mixture of granulated sugar and cinnamon, just like a classic snickerdoodle cookie. These are perfect for any holiday or occasion. Everyone will love these sweet and chewy chocolate chip cookies.

The cookie dough is prepared similar to a classic chocolate chip cookie dough, with the dried cherries added to the cookie dough. The cookies are also rolled into a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon, to give these cookies the classic flavor of a snickerdoodle cookie. They are baked until the center is cooked fully. Let the cookies cool on a cooling rack completely before serving.

Cherry Chocolate Chip Snickerdoodle Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 F. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking soda, and cream of tartar. In a large bowl, combine butter with sugar until fluffy.
  • Add in egg and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth. Add in the flour mixture until it is fully combined. Fold in the dried cherries and chocolate chips. In a shallow dish, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
  • Roll the cookie dough into balls, and roll them into the mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Place the cookies onto a large ungreased baking sheet at least 2-inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
