Air-Fried Okra

Crispy fried okra is a southern staple, but instead of deep-frying the okra  in a bunch of oil. This crispy okra is cooked in the air-fryer, resulting in a crispy and delicious appetizer. There is no need for any oil to make the okra crispy and delicious. They are breaded in a mixture of seasoned flour and breadcrumbs. Make this easy appetizer for a delicious southern meal.

To coat the okra, it is first dipped in a mixture of egg and milk, then coated in a mixture of seasoned flour. The okra is dipped back into the egg mixture, before being fully coated in breadcrumbs. Air-fry the okra in batches until crispy and golden browned.

Ingredients
  

  • 10 oz. okra, sliced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions
 

  • Preheat air-fryer to 375 F. In a shallow dish, whisk eggs and milk together. In another shallow dish, combine flour and seasonings. Place breadcrumbs into another shallow dish.
  • Dip each okra into the egg mixture, coat in the flour, back into egg, then fully coat in breadcrumbs. Air-fry in batches for 8-10 minutes.
